"Let’s choose another path. Let’s win real safety and create new kinships along the way." - Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP).
As part of our series, Working for Peace in the Holy Lands, our guest is Tema Okun, member of the local Chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace - Triangle NC. For 30 years JVP has been a grassroots, multiracial, cross-class, inter-generational movement of U.S. Jews in solidarity with the Palestinian freedom struggle, guided by a vision of justice, equality, and dignity for all people. JVP is also committed to fighting for a thriving Judaism and thriving Jewish communities, for a multiplicity of Jewish cultures and for positive future of the Jewish people. Tema Okun has spent over 35 years working on issues of racial justice and equity. She is the author of the 2010 book The Emperor Has No Clothes: Teaching About Race and Racism to People Who Don’t Want to Know.
