Francisco Ferrer – Anarchist revolutionary or freethinking educational innovator? We talk with Mark Bray, about his new book – Anarchist Education and the Modern School: A Francisco Ferrer Reader.

Ferrer was founder of the anti-authoritarian primary and secondary Modern School in Spain, inspiring such figures as Upton Sinclair and Jack London. His execution by Spanish authorities spurred worldwide protests and initiated an rationalist educational initiative lasting decades.
