The Opioid Crisis in Buncombe County

The U.S. is in the midst of an opioid crisis. One hundred and thirty people died every day from opioid overdoses in 2016 – 2017 in the U.S. North Carolina had 1,384 deaths. In Buncombe County, NC for the first 8 months of 2017, 230 people experienced an opioid overdose, an 84% increase over the same time in 2016. The crisis is not abating. Join us and listen to two local Buncombe County leaders discuss this crisis and what is being done to change its course.
