Sathya Sai Baba is one of the most revered spiritual teachers in the world. His millions of followers are people from all religions and those with no religion and from all races and cultures. He is known for his spiritual teachings, the miracles he performed and many service projects he initiated. He founded a system of highly regarded educational and medical institutions, where all services are free of charge. He started a water-supply system providing free water for needy villages. Sathya Sai Baba stressed that selfless service to others in need is the best way to improve one's spiritual development.

Gopa is an innovation lead for the federal government and a university adjunct faculty member. Outside the academic sphere, he is involved in mentoring small businesses through entrepreneurship programs.
