MANNA FoodBank: The Work of Ending Hunger 2026
"... we can make progress against world hunger, that world hunger is not hopeless. The worst enemy is apathy." - Rev David Beckmann,
In Western North Carolina 120,000 people struggle with food insecurity, including around 25,000 children. Yet, SNAP benefits are cut by the federal government. Food donations, food support from retail partners, federal sources, community partners, individuals, and food drives have decreased by 24%. Before COVID people made 65,000 monthly visits to MANNA’s food distribution network. Today, there are more than 220,000 visits each month.
Join us as we talk to Claire Neal, CEO, about the tremendous need for food, the causes and the programs of MANNA FoodBank as they work to address hunger and food insecurity for those in need.
