Veterans For Peace engages in a wide array of initiatives aimed at fostering peace and justice, emphasizing the importance of diplomacy over military intervention, and promoting a society where the rights and dignity of every individual are respected and upheld. Whether it's working to abolish nuclear arms, saving veteran's healthcare, working against the escalation of military tactics being used against civilians, working to stop U.S. aggression against sovereign nations, or trying to end the violence in Gaza, VFP seeks to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of war and militarization on both veterans and civilian populations.
Join us as we talk to Bruce Carruthers about current activities of Veterans For Peace WNC. Bruce is a US Army veteran and served a tour of duty in Viet Nam in 1967 and 1968. He was honorably discharged from the Army in May 1968 and transitioned into advocating for peace and justice, channeling his experiences into efforts that seek to prevent future conflicts.
