AFSP: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
“Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.” - Victor Hugo
Maureen Gould Bolger is a suicide loss survivor who took that grief and made suicide prevention both a personal passion and a professional commitment. She started as a volunteer with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) before becoming Area Director of the organization’s North Carolina chapter.
Maureen believes some of the most meaningful change begins with creating spaces where people feel safe enough to have honest conversations about mental health, connection, and hope.
AFSP is a grassroots nonprofit working to eliminate the loss of life from suicide. Through prevention programs, public education, and connecting people to support, it serves a vital need for those affected by suicide.
Join us as we talk with Maureen Gould Bolger about the stigma around suicide, prevention education, understanding and support, and the work AFSP does across the country.
